Why Should I Care About the Quality of My Family's Drinking Water?

Woman with child

We know that You're careful about the foods your family eats, we hope that you make your children buckle up when riding in the car, and in fact you've, hopefully, you’ve gone out of your way to select one of the safest cars on the road.

What about protecting your family from potentially harmful contaminants that can be in your drinking water? The quality of water you put into your body is vitally important.  Water purity is not a fad or a trendy diet that will be gone tomorrow. Purity should be a permanent component of your family's nutrition.

What is Steam Distillation?

globeNature makes extremely pure water through a process called the Hydrologic Cycle. In this process, the Sun provides heat to the Ocean, which causes evaporation. The pure water vapor rises until it condenses into clouds. With further cooling the water in the clouds precipitates as rain. Rain, as long as there is no air pollution, is extremely pure water.
Steam-distillation exactly duplicates Nature’s process.
In steam-distillation, the contaminated water (your tap water) is boiled and evaporated. The pure water vapor rises (steam); and then further cooling condenses causing it to precipitate into fresh water droplets.  The fresh (PURE) water droplets are then collected for your family’s use.

Why Should I Consume Only Steam-Distilled Water?

All of the water that you and your family consumes should be of the highest purity. Steam-distilled water is the gold standard for purity, and is accepted by top doctors and nutritionists around the World as the preferred choice for consumable water.

What about the Minerals in My Distilled Water?

There are two sources of minerals: organic and inorganic. Our bodies cannot assimilate minerals that come from an inorganic source such as the water we drink.  Our bodies receive the minerals it uses in the body from organic sources such as the food we eat.
Here is what the experts say about the minerals in our water:

“Water hardness (caused by the inorganic minerals in solution) is the underlying cause of many, if not all, of the diseases resulting from poisons in the intestinal tract.  These (hard minerals) pass from the intestinal walls and get into the lymphatic system, which delivers all of its products to the blood, which in turn, distributes to all parts of the body. This is the cause of much human disease.”

What about Filters versus Distillation Systems?

Filters are simply a barrier placed in a high-pressure water line.  Raw (unclean/untreated) water is on one side of the filter - under pressure.  'Filtered' water is comes out of the filtration device - on the other side.  Barrier filters include reverse osmosis (R.O.), carbon filters, sand filters and ceramic filters.

Filters typically CANNOT produce high-purity water over time.
All Filters deteriorate, as they do, the quality of water they produce also declines.

This is why you need to change filters frequently. (Most consumers do not!!)

Filters can provide inconsistent results based on a number of factors including water temperature, quality of the raw water, chemicals in the water, age of the filter, bacteria, etc.

Filters do not kill biological contaminants.  Filters cannot offer solid protection against biological contaminants. This is why United States organizations like Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA) and the American Red Cross don't endorse any type of filter during a biological outbreak (these organizations do endorse steam-distillation).

Filters have a problem with bacteria creep, One of the most serious problems with filters is bacteria creep. This is when trapped bacteria actually grows and multiplies within the filter and can grow through the filter causing ruptures and bacterial contamination.

Filters can cause direct contamination.  The filter is a barrier between the raw and filtered water.  If this barrier fails for any reason, there will be direct contamination of the filtered water. In contrast, steam-distillation boils the water and has an air gap between the raw and pure water.

Where can the PSWU Distillation Unit be Installed?

drawingPractically anywhere … all that’s required is an electrical outlet and a level, ventilated location.  Access to a water supply is required for the automatic refill units.  With the addition of the accessory demand pump, the unit can be placed in a remote, out-of-the-way location and distilled water can be pumped out of the storage tank to the kitchen faucet, refrigerator or any location of your choice.

What Maintenance is Required?

The units are designed for little maintenance in normal situations.  Once per week the boiling tank should be drained to dispose of the contaminants that have been removed from your drinking water (the automatic drain units do this automatically).  The boiling tank should be cleaned once per month, although this may vary depending on water conditions in your area.  Each unit also incorporates an activated carbon post-filter that requires changing every three months.

Where can I buy Parts and/or Supplies?

Simply, either come by our office in Ikeja – or visit one of our many dealers/distributors.  You can also contact us by either phone or email to arrange delivery of ordered items directly to your home or office.

I’ve heard that distillation cannot remove volatile organics?

Some articles have been written about distillation systems being unable to remove volatile organics (organic chemicals that have a boiling point lower than water).  These articles claim these gases carry over with the steam.  To ensure this does not happen, Pure Water Brand units are equipped with patented twin volatile gas vents on the condensing coil, which removes virtually all of these contaminants.  For even further protection, each Pure Water Brand unit is equipped with an activated carbon post-filter to provide you with high quality distilled water with a 99% removal rate of virtually all contaminants.
